Since 2019, I’ve been helping individuals and families understand their financial options, protect the people they love, and work toward their long-term goals.
My journey to becoming a life insurance broker is deeply personal.
I came to Canada as a live-in caregiver, leaving my own family behind for three years and eight months while I worked hard to build a better future. My family eventually joined me in Canada in 2011, and together, we began building the life we had dreamed of.
Like many newcomers, I experienced what it meant to start over, adapt to a new country, work hard, and build financial stability step by step.
Before entering the financial services industry, I worked for seven years as an Assistant Early Childhood Educator at the YMCA. In December 2018, I began working at the hospital in Collingwood, where I continue to work today.
In 2019, while working at the hospital, I made another important career decision: I became licensed as a life insurance agent and joined Greatway Financial.
Why I Chose This Career
I didn’t enter this industry simply because I wanted another career.
I wanted to learn how financial protection and planning could help families prepare for the unexpected and work toward their goals.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sitting down with individuals, couples, parents, newcomers, and families to look at their financial picture from a different perspective.
My approach is simple:
Where are you today?
Where do you want to go?
What are you already doing?
And what gaps may be standing between where you are and where you want to be?
From there, I help clients explore solutions that can fit their needs, priorities, and circumstances.
My Personal Experience Made This Work Meaningful
The importance of financial planning became even more real to me during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In February 2020, my family had just moved into our home. Shortly afterward, my husband was laid off as the pandemic affected so many families.
It was a stressful and uncertain time.
But because we had already started building our financial foundation before the pandemic, we were able to continue meeting our obligations and get through that difficult period.
That experience reinforced something I had already begun to understand:
You don’t prepare for the unexpected after it happens. You prepare before you need it.
That is one of the reasons I am passionate about helping families have these conversations.
From Traditional Saving to a More Complete Financial Conversation
Many of us grew up with the idea that saving money is simply about putting money aside.
Saving is important—but I believe families also need to ask bigger questions.
What happens if income suddenly stops?
How would your family manage if something unexpected happened?
Are the people you love financially protected?
What are your long-term goals?
Are you preparing for retirement?
How can your money work toward those goals while you protect what you have already built?
My role is to help clients look at the bigger picture and identify potential gaps between their current situation and their financial goals.
The Pandemic Changed the Way We Connect
The pandemic also changed the way I serve my clients.
When in-person meetings became difficult, I learned to embrace virtual appointments and began connecting with clients through Zoom and other online tools.
The transition was challenging at first, but it opened my eyes to how accessible financial conversations can be.
Today, I can connect with clients wherever they are, making it easier to review their plans, answer questions, and stay connected.
Technology may have changed how we meet, but the most important part has stayed the same:
People still want someone they can trust, talk to, and come back to when their circumstances change.
My Commitment to My Clients
My relationship with a client doesn’t end when a policy is put in place.
I believe in staying connected.
I conduct regular policy reviews so we can revisit their coverage, financial goals, family circumstances, and changing needs.
Life changes.
Families grow.
Children become independent.
Careers change.
Income changes.
Goals change.
And a financial plan should be reviewed as those changes happen.
My goal is to be a long-term resource for my clients—not just someone they call when they need a policy.
What I Help Clients Explore
Depending on their individual circumstances and goals, I help clients explore areas such as:
- Life insurance and financial protection
Income and family protection
- Critical illness protection
- Retirement planning
- Wealth accumulation strategies
- Education and future planning
- state and legacy considerations
- Reviewing existing insurance coverage
- Identifying potential gaps in a current financial plan
Every person and family are different. My role is to understand their situation first and then help them explore appropriate options.
Why Clients Work With Me?
Personal Experience
I understand what it means to start over, build a family in Canada, and work toward financial stability.
Education First
I believe clients should understand what they are considering—not simply be told what to buy.
Long-Term Relationships
I stay connected with clients through regular reviews and ongoing conversations.
Accessibility
Virtual meetings make it easier for busy families and clients across different locations to connect.
A Holistic Perspective
I look beyond a single insurance policy and encourage clients to consider protection, savings, investments, retirement, and long-term goals together.
My Philosophy
I believe financial planning isn’t only for wealthy people.
It’s for parents who want to protect their children.
It’s for couples building their first home.
It’s for newcomers starting a new chapter.
It’s for individuals thinking about retirement.
It’s for families who have worked hard to build something and don’t want one unexpected event to undo years of effort.
And sometimes, it’s simply about asking the right questions before you actually need the answers.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start.
You just need to start the conversation.
My Promise
I will take the time to understand where you are, listen to what matters to you, and help you identify the areas that may need attention.
My goal is not simply to help you purchase a policy.
My goal is to help you understand your financial picture, protect what matters, and make informed decisions about your future.
Because financial security isn’t built in one day.
It’s built through small, intentional decisions made consistently over time.
And I would be honoured to be part of your journey.
LET’S START THE CONVERSATION
Your goals are personal. Your financial plan should be, too.
If you would like to review your current situation, discuss your goals, or simply understand what options may be available to you, let’s have a conversation.
No pressure. No judgment. Just a conversation about where you are today and where you want to go.
